Press Release For HMDBCII

It had been a year on the dot since solo musician, Chuck W., first reigned down synthesizer hell-fire on us. The tunitis was only recovering in the last few months. The ears of the poor souls foolish enough to listen, shattered.

The common thread to this aural interruption? Blinky, shiny, strobey lights of all sorts, shapes and size. Each creating a visual experience along with the audio one. The machines? Brooding, industrial, and cold looking beasts. All very capable on their own. But, wouldn't it be fun to kind of take this massive capacity and go off=the-cuff? In a process dependent on planning, I am a fan of winging it. There's no better instrument on the market to achieve this. There's also nothing as complex and difficult that will become someone's obsession as quick as they had learned of it like synthesizers.

Things were advancing for Chuck. His playing chops became tighter. Media and playlist connections stronger. Composition was becoming more of a free flowing improv day in, day out. These are all magnificent things.

While the situation may have played out magnificent, one must be careful to not rest on these laurels. Doing so is to shoot one in the foot. Overdue and unwelcome ego trips never helped anyone. And this is aside the fact that there is always going to be someone better than you. Always.

To be fair, it had been long enough to declare I was again challenging myself. Lucky for me, Heavy Metal Dust Bunny Cynicism provided the idal precursor to establish a follow up. I had a wild and zany notion to counter the previous EP's 'all software approach'. Software used in this instance was Arturia's Arturia Collection. HMDBCII would find its voice within all the hardware I had at my possession.

HMDBCII reflects the use of many desktop synthesizers. Heard on HMDBCII are wonderful machines. Such as the Korg MS 20 Mini, Moog Mother 32, Moog DFAM and Make Noise 0 Coast, to name a few. HMDBC II is a brutal assault. An assault ... On nothing but your teeny tiny timpanic membranes. What is interesting is that as the music gets harder and heavier, I stay the same. As an Artist. A Musician. Heck, as simple as human being.

That is because I have come to a quite strange sonic place in my music career in peace. Never do I mean anyone else any harm, despite the ferocity of the music and brand messages as I deliver them. Despite the tech and skill being there to blast you from your seat, it needs to be used with discretion. You're only witnessing a test exercise with a nuclear bomb. You have now been warned and are responsible for strapping yourself in. Keep your hands and feet inside the ride at all times. Please do not stand untl the roller coaster has, in fact, come to a full stop. Safely exit the roller coaster seat by pressing the buton found above the steering wheel to your top-right! Enjo
